Shakespeare on the Green Returns to Avondale Estates This Fall!

Avondale Estates is bringing a touch of the Bard to DeKalb! On Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m., the city’s charming Town Green will transform into a stage for Shakespeare on the Green, the county’s first free Shakespeare series.

It’s only fitting that Avondale Estates—known for its distinctive Tudor-Revival architecture inspired by Shakespeare’s birthplace—sets the scene for this unique cultural celebration.

What to Expect

This family-friendly afternoon will feature:

-Engaging Shakespeare activities for kids
-Live music to set the mood
-Special sneak peeks of upcoming productions from the Atlanta Shakespeare Company, the talent behind The Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse

The event is part of the “A Shakespeare Happening” three-part series, with performances scheduled on September 13, October 11, and November 15. Each gathering begins at 2 p.m. and is held rain or shine.
