A Taste of West Africa Has Arrived in Tucker

Tucker’s dining scene just got even more flavorful. Le Nouveau Maquis in Tucker is bringing the bold, comforting flavors of West Africa to the Northlake area with a dining experience rooted in food, culture and community.

Opened in February 2026 as the restaurant’s second DeKalb County location, Le Nouveau Maquis is the creation of mother-daughter duo Fanta Agbodjan and Christie Fabiola Agbale. The restaurant takes inspiration from the West African maquis—a neighborhood gathering place where friends and family come together over familiar, home-cooked meals.

The menu gives diners plenty to explore, from jollof rice and plantains to grilled meats, flavorful soups and stews, whole fish and other West African favorites. The Tucker location expands the experience with a larger, full-service setting designed for gathering, celebrating and discovering something new.
