We were honored to host a distinguished panel of industry experts and scholars from across the country, each bringing invaluable perspectives to the table.
Dr. Vincent Magnini, Executive Director of the Institute for Service Research, kicked off the discussions by delving into research surrounding the economics and quality of life impact of events. Dr. Muzzo Uysal from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst followed, emphasizing the importance of quality experiences, and tying research findings to the significance of events in enhancing community well-being.
Dr. Greg Ramshaw, representing Clemson University, brought his expertise in rark recreation, tourism management, and heritage tourism to the forefront, shedding light on the diverse array of events that contribute to community enrichment. Dr. Soon Ho Kim, Program Director of the Master of Global Hospitality Management in the Cecil B. Day School of Hospitality at the Robinson College of Business, provided local insights into the economic implications of events and the hospitality industry's role in fostering their success.
To conclude the panel, we were privileged to have Davonne Reaves, an Atlanta hospitality expert, share insights into the pivotal role hotels play in supporting events and enhancing the overall visitor experience. From accommodations to amenities, Reeves underscored the importance of a seamless partnership between event organizers and hospitality establishments.
