Discover the Joy of Bird Watching in Stonecrest
Trade the morning scroll for birdsong and discover a new way to explore DeKalb County. The City of Stonecrest Parks & Recreation is inviting nature lovers, curious beginners, and outdoor explorers to a free Beginners Bird Watching Class at Everett Park on Tuesday, May 26, from 9–11 AM.
Nestled among the trees and trails of Stonecrest, this hands-on experience is the perfect opportunity to slow down, look up, and connect with the wildlife right here in DeKalb. Participants will learn birding basics including how to use binoculars, identify birds by sight and sound, and spot movement high in the canopy. Whether you’re hoping to finally identify the bird singing outside your window or simply looking for a peaceful way to enjoy the outdoors, this class is designed for all experience levels.
Even better? Binoculars will be provided, making it easy for first-time birders to jump right in. Just bring your smartphone, comfortable walking shoes, water, and your sense of curiosity.
