What is Babe Walls?
Babe Walls is more than just a mural festival—it’s a movement. Founded in Colorado, the festival was created as a space for women and non-binary artists to showcase their talent in the traditionally male-dominated world of street art. The event brings artists together to collaborate, share stories, and leave lasting artistic impressions on communities.
Now, thanks to Alexandrea and Elaine, Babe Walls is coming to Chamblee, bringing a vibrant splash of color, culture, and creativity to DeKalb County.
Why Public Art Matters
During our conversation, Alexandrea and Elaine highlighted how mural art can completely transform a place—not just aesthetically, but in how people connect with their surroundings.
Building Community – Public art fosters a sense of pride and belonging, bringing residents and visitors together.
Changing the Experience of a Space – A once-overlooked wall or alleyway can become a vibrant, must-see landmark, changing the way people engage with an area.
Inspiring Creativity – Murals aren’t just decorations; they tell stories, spark creativity, and encourage dialogue about culture, history, and social issues.
