The Mammoth Sunflower Community Challenge
Something special is taking root in Stonecrest—and it’s growing tall, bright, and full of community pride.
The Mammoth Sunflower Community Challenge is back, inviting residents across the city to dig in and be part of a shared experience that brings neighborhoods together in the most vibrant way. This isn’t just about planting a seed, it’s about cultivating connection, sparking friendly competition, and watching Stonecrest bloom—literally.
From front yards to community spaces, sunflowers will soon stretch toward the sky as residents compete for a few standout honors. Will your district have the most blooms? Can you grow the tallest sunflower in the city? Or maybe you’ll take home the title for the biggest, boldest bloom. However you participate, every sunflower planted adds to something bigger.
Getting involved is easy. Residents can pick up one free sunflower seed per household at Browns Mill Recreation Center through May 29 (while supplies last). From there, it’s all about planting, nurturing, and sharing the journey as your sunflower grows.
Whether you’re a first-time planter or a seasoned green thumb, this is your moment to step outside, connect with your neighbors, and be part of a citywide movement rooted in growth and community spirit.
Stonecrest is blooming, and you’re invited to grow with it.
