At Discover DeKalb, in addition to promoting our beloved cities, industries, and businesses, we have the responsibility of ensuring the safety and general welfare of all of our residents and visitors. With businesses reopening and residents and visitors beginning to return to day-to-day life, we are all emerging in a new, more cautious world.

Here at Discover DeKalb, the safety and wellbeing of our residents and visitors has remained our number one priority. While we are beyond excited to welcome people back to DeKalb, we will continue to keep enhanced health precautions in place and following CDC guidelines.

Our area hotels and businesses are continuing to do the following in order to keep your safety in mind!

  • Wellness checks for employees before reporting to their shift
  • All guest rooms have individual filtrations systems for HVAC
  • Masks are required to be worn by all employees and guests
  • Electro-static spray used in the public areas and employee areas
  • Social distancing activated throughout all hotel public spaces
  • If a guest does not have a mask, the hotel will supply a complimentary mask
  • Consistent sanitization of high touch areas throughout the day using EPA approved sanitizers
  • Housekeeping services performed upon guest request only
  • Hand sanitizer placed in key areas of the hotel, including food stations
  • Social distancing guidelines followed in meeting space and restaurant
  • Freshly prepared meals available for group functions
  • Designated “Trust Ambassador” responsible for ensuring consistent execution of our Trust and Preparedness Plan in our hotel

And of course, to protect yourself and others, always remember to wash your hands frequently with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds.

  • Use a hand sanitizer that is at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or into your elbow; and clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

If you are still a bit hesitant to travel, or get out and about, we have plenty of options for you as well! Check out our many outdoor adventures and delicious dining take out options. There is something for everyone in DeKalb, no matter what your current comfort level is.

We are so glad that we are emerging from COVID-19 and doing so with an even stronger and more resilient community than ever before. We realize we still have a road ahead of us, but we are glad that we are moving in the right direction. We look forward to welcoming YOU to DeKalb soon!
