Founded as a railroad community in 1892, Tucker has a number of local favorite restaurants including Matthews Cafeteria, which was featured on Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins & Dives and Food Paradise on the Travel Channel. Matthews Cafeteria has been rated as the #1 place in Georgia for southern fried chicken. Tucker is home to Tucker Brewing Company, which features an 8,500-square-foot beer garden, the largest of its kind in the Southeast. The Tucker Brewing beer garden is a beautiful outdoor space where you can enjoy German-style beer and relax with family and friends.
Main Street Tucker hosts a variety of events and festivals including Tucker Chili Cook-Off (March), Tucker Day (May), Movies on Main (June), Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Spectacular (July), National Night Out (August), Taste of Tucker (October), Trunk or Treat (October) and Christmas on Main (December).
The Tucker Farmers Market offers fresh, local produce and entertainment with a variety of vendors and performers on Main Street from 4 to 8 p.m. (Thursdays, April-December).
The Tucker Cruise-In is an old-fashioned town meet and greet car show on Main Street. They have a wide variety of cars, ranging from antiques to street rods, motorcycles to imports. The Cruise-Ins are held on the 2nd Saturday of every month (April-September). The fun begins at 5:00 p.m. and ends with the presentation of awards around 8:00 p.m.
Main Street Theatre is a group of dedicated and passionate volunteers who came together in 2014 to found Main Street Theatre, Inc. Their mission is to produce superior theatrical experiences that entertain and connect the community of Tucker with the arts and with each other. Main Street Theatre productions are held at the Tucker Recreation Center.
From the big screen to the little screen, it is no secret that film is happening in Tucker, Georgia.
